Athens: HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met HE The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Mansion this morning.
During the meeting, the latest developments in Iran and the wider Middle East region were discussed.
The Prime Minister emphasized Greece’s role as a pillar of stability and a reliable partner in the region, and reiterated the need for a diplomatic solution that will ensure sustainable peace. He also stressed the absolute necessity of safeguarding freedom of navigation, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz.



The situation in Lebanon was also discussed, including the need to support the Lebanese government, maintain the ceasefire, and reach a peace agreement that will benefit security and stability in the region.
The Prime Minister and The Amir of Qatar agreed to move forward with an upgraded and expanded framework of cooperation, covering sectors such as trade, energy and connectivity, defense, agri-food products, culture, and education.
As part of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Agriculture was signed between the Ministry of Rural Development and Food and the Ministry of Municipality of Qatar.
Investment opportunities in Greece were also discussed, with emphasis on infrastructure and data centers, energy, and hospitality.
