Funding agreement supports Arabic and English debate championships, curriculum development and youth empowerment in line with Qatar National Vision 2030
Doha: The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) has signed a funding agreement with QatarDebate Center, founded by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, to support local debating leagues and championships and expand the Center’s educational publications.
Under the agreement, DAAM will provide financial support for QatarDebate’s annual debating leagues and championships in both Arabic and English, benefiting students from preparatory school through university. The funding will also support the development of specialized curricula and educational resources, including publications and instructional materials designed to strengthen Arabic-language debating.
Director of Programs at DAAM, Hassan Yousef Al Obaidly, said the partnership reflects the Fund’s commitment to backing initiatives that promote constructive dialogue and empower young people by developing their skills and enhancing their contribution to national development.
Administrative and Strategy Director at QatarDebate Center, Abdulrahman Al Subaie, said the agreement will enable the Center to broaden the reach of its educational programs, reinforce their long-term sustainability and further establish debating as an effective educational tool that nurtures critical thinking, communication skills and constructive dialogue among younger generations.
Founded in 2008, QatarDebate Center is a leading institution dedicated to promoting the culture of debate and dialogue. The Center develops educational and competitive programs, produces specialized research and publications, and builds strategic partnerships to advance debating in both Arabic and English in Qatar and internationally.
The agreement underscores DAAM’s role, alongside companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange, in supporting cultural initiatives and sustainable development aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Established in 2010, DAAM has launched numerous initiatives across the cultural, social, sports and charitable sectors, with contributions from listed companies serving as one of the Fund’s primary sources of financing.
