Delegation joins committee meetings as Arab Parliament adopts resolutions on regional developments, parliamentary cooperation and key political, economic and social issues
Cairo, Egypt: The Shura Council participated in the plenary session of the Arab Parliament, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, where members reviewed regional developments and approved a series of draft resolutions and recommendations.
Qatar’s delegation included HE Amina bint Youssef Al Jaidah, HE Nasser bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, HE Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Matar Al Kuwari and HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, all members of both the Shura Council and the Arab Parliament.
During the session, members reviewed the outcomes of meetings of the Arab Parliament’s standing committees and endorsed draft resolutions covering a range of issues on the agenda. These included the Iranian aggression, reaffirming the rejection of interference in the internal affairs of Arab states, as well as statements addressing the latest developments in Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Libya, Somalia and Lebanon.
The Qatari delegation also took part in meetings of the Parliament’s four standing committees: the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee; the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee; the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee; and the Foreign, Political and National Security Affairs Committee.
The committee discussions covered a broad range of political, economic, legislative and social issues, including regional developments, strengthening preventive parliamentary diplomacy, artificial intelligence, support for the Palestinian economy, consumer protection, human rights and other matters of common Arab interest.
