Doha: The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center AMAN, part of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has launched the ‘We Learn with AMAN’ initiative to strengthen educational support for children receiving care through the center, reinforcing its commitment to holistic child development.

Program, developed with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, provides tailored academic support and life skills to prepare children for successful school integration

The initiative forms part of AMAN’s broader awareness and empowerment programs and reflects the center’s belief that education is a fundamental pillar alongside social and psychological care in shaping children’s futures. Through the program, AMAN aims to equip children with the academic and personal skills needed to continue their education and successfully integrate into the formal school system.

At the heart of the initiative is a dedicated in-house learning unit within AMAN’s internal care department. The unit offers a simplified yet comprehensive educational program tailored to children’s individual learning needs, providing a safe, supportive and stimulating environment that helps build a strong academic foundation while preparing them for mainstream education.

The initiative is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by its Department of Curriculum and Learning Resources. The collaboration ensures that the educational content aligns with Qatar’s national curriculum while providing the technical and academic support needed to maintain high-quality learning outcomes.

During the pilot phase, AMAN has also coordinated with a number of volunteer teachers who will deliver educational lessons to participating children. The center said it will assess the program’s outcomes and explore expanding volunteer participation to ensure the initiative’s long-term sustainability and broader impact.

The program targets children in AMAN’s internal care unit who face educational challenges, with a curriculum focused on strengthening reading, writing and mathematics skills. It also emphasizes the development of personal competencies, self-confidence and social skills to better prepare children for formal education and future academic success.

Commenting on the launch, Acting Executive Director of AMAN, Fadhel Al Kaabi, said the initiative seeks to close educational gaps for children under the center’s care by creating an inclusive learning environment that offers equal opportunities for growth and development.

He described the program as an important step toward enhancing the quality of services provided within the internal care unit, while reinforcing the integration of protection, care and education in line with AMAN’s vision of empowering children and helping them build brighter futures within a cohesive family environment.

Al Kaabi also praised the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for its vital support of the initiative and expressed appreciation to the volunteer teachers whose contributions reflect a strong commitment to social responsibility and community service.
