Doha: Qatar National Library (QNL) has launched its annual Membership Campaign this July, encouraging residents across Qatar to make the most of its extensive collection of learning resources, creative spaces, and family-friendly summer activities.
Free membership gives everyone in Qatar access to over one million books, digital resources, innovation spaces, and a packed summer programme for all ages.
Open to everyone living in Qatar at no cost, QNL membership provides access to more than one million physical books, an expanding collection of digital resources and e-books, as well as thousands of children’s e-resources and interactive learning tools.
Members can also explore the Library’s state-of-the-art Innovation Stations, including music studios and green-screen rooms designed to foster creativity and digital skills. Meanwhile, the Children’s Library offers hands-on programmes, storytelling sessions, and engaging educational activities throughout the summer.
“Summer is when the Library truly comes alive. Families come through our doors looking for enrichment, students want to stay ahead, and curious minds of all ages are ready to explore. The #Library4You slogan is our invitation to everyone in Qatar to make this summer count,” said Fatima Al Sahli, Head of the Stacks Maintenance Unit in QNL’s Public Engagement Department.
For those travelling during the summer break, the Library’s mobile app and digital collections ensure uninterrupted access to books, learning resources, and educational content from anywhere, allowing members to continue reading and learning on the go.
QNL said the campaign reflects its commitment to making knowledge accessible to everyone, positioning the Library as a welcoming space where children discover new stories, students strengthen their academic skills, researchers advance their work, and families connect through shared learning experiences.
The initiative is aligned with the Library’s #Library4You slogan, which highlights QNL’s role as a lifelong learning partner that supports every member of the community with personalised opportunities for education, creativity, and discovery.
This year’s summer programme features a range of activities for all age groups. Children can participate in the Summer Camp and Summer Reading Challenge to develop lifelong reading habits, while young adults and students can benefit from academic guidance, digital skills training, and the Murshidi mentorship community.
Families can also enjoy interactive exhibitions, cultural events, and the Library’s welcoming reading spaces, making QNL a destination for learning, creativity, and recreation throughout the summer.
Membership is free for all residents of Qatar and can be completed in just a few minutes through the Qatar National Library app, available on Google Play and the App Store, online via the Library’s website, or in person at the User Services Desk.
